Platelet-rich plasma (PRP treatments) is a skin-enriching technique which uses healing platelets in your blood to make your skin feel younger, look healthier, and grow stronger.
How do PRP Treatments work?
PRP fills in wrinkles and smooths facial lines like Juvederm, and uses the same micro-perforation technique to strengthen skin as Rejuvapen.
The process begins when we take a small amount of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge. This isolates the platelets in your blood to create a platelet-rich plasma, or PRP.
We inject this PRP mixture into micro-perforations in your skin. This kicks your body’s wound healing processes into gear to rebuild and strengthen skin cells.
Do PRP Treatments hurt?
Before the treatment begins, we apply a topical anesthetic to your face. The injection of the blood might feel a little strange, but the needle is so tiny that combined with the anesthetic, the treatment is not very painful. Some compare it to getting a tattoo, but PRP treatments use a smaller, less powerful needle.
