5 Reasons Why Vanquish is a Better Fat Melting Treatment than CoolSculpting®

If you’re fed up with trying to tighten up your midsection by a healthy diet and exercise alone, an effective, permanent solution you might already be considering include fat melting treatments like Vanquish and CoolSculpting®. Medical spa clients love fat melting treatments like these because they’re an easier, faster way to zap stubborn fat cells and achieve a more toned look.

When it comes to Vanquish and CoolSculpting, both fat melting treatments have their similarities. For instance, they’re both FDA-approved (though the Vanquish technology is newer). Both are completely non-invasive and can be carried out in a relaxing spa setting like what you’ll find at Allure Medical Spa. And both are similar in that they dissolve fatty tissue by breaking down the cells themselves, which are then passed through the body as waste.

But that’s where the similarities end. Vanquish and CoolSculpting work toward the same goal for your physique, but they vary a lot in terms of the treatments themselves, the results, and the pricing. Before we explain why Vanquish is our fat melting treatment of choice, let’s get familiar with how both of these treatments work.

How do Vanquish and CoolSculpting work?

While both treatments end up doing functionally the same thing to your fat, they go about it in very different ways. CoolSculpting targets fat cells by freezing them until they crystallize. Those cells are them metabolized by your liver.

And whereas CoolSculpting creates a cold, numbing sensation around the treatment area, Vanquish feels like a heating pad—the technology heats fat cells to a temperature of 120 degrees and melts them. The cells are then processed by the lymphatic system.

An additional benefit of Vanquish? The heat creates a skin tightening effect, which is great news for anyone looking to sculpt or minimize loose skin.

Now that you’re a pro at knowing the difference between Vanquish and CoolSculpting, let’s talk about why Vanquish is the better option for your permanent fat melting goals.

1. Vanquish melts more fat than CoolSculpting.

When considering Vanquish versus CoolSculpting, one of the first questions most people want to know the answer to is “Which one works better?” The answer, according to official studies, is Vanquish.

One recent study by BTL Aesthetics found that after four to six weekly sessions, Vanquish patients reported up to a 59% fat reduction at the treated site as opposed to 20 to 22% by CoolSculpting patients. Not only that, but Vanquish patients reported their results sooner than with CoolSculpting.

2. Vanquish results look more even (and less lumpy) than CoolSculpting results.

Because CoolSculpting involves one area of fatty tissue being treated at a time, some CoolSculpting patients have reported results in treated areas that look uneven and even lumpy. On the other hand, Vanquish treats entire areas at one time, which helps ensure a smoother result.

3. Vanquish tends to take less time than CoolSculpting.

In addition to all the other great benefits Vanquish offers over CoolSculpting, Vanquish treatments tend to take less time per session, which is convenient for your busy schedule. In official studies, patients receiving CoolSculpting on their abdominal area tended to need four to six treatments with only one part of the abdomen being treated at a time. (And each segment takes between 35 minutes to an hour!)

Even though your entire CoolSculpting treatment could theoretically take just one session, you’re in for one long visit—and not a very comfortable one. Vanquish patients in the same study were treated in an average of four sessions that lasted about 45 minutes per session. While a week between treatments is recommended for Vanquish, it’s far less time-intensive—and more relaxing, which leads us to our next point.

4. Vanquish is more comfortable than CoolSculpting.

It’s safe to say that people tend to prefer warm sensations over freezing and numbness, but Vanquish is so relaxing that Kelly’s clients have reported falling asleep while the fat melting treatment works its magic. And while the CoolSculpting device tugs and sucks on the skin until the cold temperatures make the treated area go numb, Vanquish simply hovers over the top of the treatment area.

5. Vanquish has virtually no after-effects or recovery time.

Neither Vanquish nor CoolSculpting require very much in the way of downtime or recovery, but CoolSculpting pulls on the skin and muscle during treatment, which can be uncomfortable and cause redness, bruising, and mild swelling for a few days afterward. Skin discoloration can also occur. In addition, many CoolSculpting patients have reported neuralgia (nerve pain) due to freezing of the nerves. Neuralgia tends to subside after a few weeks or months, but it has never been reported with Vanquish.

Since the Vanquish device doesn’t come into aggressive contact with the skin, it doesn’t cause side effects other than some slight pinkness around the treated area.

Price Comparison

According to most comparisons, Vanquish and CoolSculpting tend to be competitively priced. Depending on the spa you choose, CoolSculpting can cost between $1500 to $4500. (The cost is also dependent on the type of applicator used.) One CoolSculpting session is typically all that’s required to achieve results.

At Allure Medical Spa, Vanquish costs $710 per session, and Kelly typically recommends four sessions—though with the purchase of four sessions, clients receive one Vanquish treatment for free, which is an additional $710 value (and an average session cost of just $568!). Not only that, but Kelly’s Vanquish process begins with a body sculpting Vanquish Exilis session—a bonus $300 value—at no cost to you. Kelly includes an Exilis session to kickstart the fat melting process in a way that ensures even results that maximize your investment.

In short, you could spend up to $4500 at another spa for CoolSculpting—or you could spend $3000 with a $1100 value added in with no strings attached, plus a more pleasant experience and better results overall.
